WATCH: South Dakota ‘Independent’ Brian Bengs Melts Down After MAGA Patriot Confronts Fake Independent Dan Osborn at Capitol Press Conference Over Tape Trashing Trump Voters
A MAGA patriot from Nebraska walked up to a D.C. press conference Thursday and did what the corporate media will not: he called out supposed “independent” Nebraska Senate candidate Dan Osborn to his face for privately trashing rural Trump voters.
Osborn and Bengs were in town for the so-called Independent National Convention, standing outside the Capitol and telling reporters they were running “outside of the corrupt two-party system.”
What followed was not a calm policy discussion. South Dakota Senate candidate Brian Bengs, the former Democrat now running as an Independent against Sen. Mike Rounds, left the podium, pointed, and got into a verbal altercation with the man before the two were separated.
“You’re lying. Dan, you’re a Democrat. How much money did you pay to your mom or your wife?” the man shouted.
Bengs tried to shut the patriot down. It did not work.
Bengs: I don’t think this is an appropriate time to have that question, but that is exactly the problem. Because he wants to call us something we’re not.

MAGA Man: He is a liar… How about the foul language? What about the f***ers? … I would like a truthful answer for a change.

MAGA Man: Does he represent you?
Bengs: No, I am a United States candidate for the Senate.
MAGA Man: Okay, you’re not from Nebraska. Get out of the way then. Get out of the way.
Bengs: This is the problem. This is it. The civility of politics is not here because there’s name-calling.
Osborn: Yeah, that’s, that’s why we’re independents.
MAGA Man: You call us f***ers, Dan.
Osborn: No, I don’t.
MAGA Man: Yeah, you did. I heard it… from your mouth.
Osborn’s response was vintage. He denied denigrating Nebraskans but did not deny the swearing. “I cuss. I’m a sailor. What can I say?” He then pivoted to the usual talking point that “everybody’s angry” and his family is “treading water.”

The man cited the now-infamous leaked audio of Osborn sneering at the people he needs to win Nebraska:
“Billy Bob in f**king Red Cloud, Nebraska, who lives next door to the f**king Trump store as you pull into town and is waving the Trump flag, all he knows is he’s on the winning team. It’s really that simple.”
Osborn went on to say Trump is effective because he tells “Billy Bob and his wife Mary Jane or Mary Jo” they’re on the winning team, “and that’s all they care about, because their lives probably suck so f**king bad.”
The Gateway Pundit first reported that tape last week. As Cullen Linebarger wrote, the so-called blue-collar independent was caught on a hot mic revealing exactly what he thinks about rural Trump voters.
Days later, Mike LaChance documented another recording in which Osborn admitted he would hide his real views on LGBTQ and immigration issues to get elected, then “everybody else can f-off” for six years.
On CNN last week, Osborn had already conceded the voice “sure sounds like me.” He offered a non-apology to anyone who might be offended while insisting he “feels their pain.”
Sen. Pete Ricketts, the Republican Osborn is trying to unseat, put it plainly: the people Osborn mocked as “Billy Bob” and “Mary Jane” whose lives “suck so f—— bad” are the hardest-working people in America.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Bengs’ campaign released a damage-control statement following his meltdown, saying he was standing up to a “paid protester.”
“Brian stood up to a paid-agitator who was screaming profanities and encroaching on the personal space of campaign staff. Washington politicians send them to events because they’re scared of the Independent movement and want to distract from the issues people care about because they prefer the status quo.
“Brian was in D.C. calling on Mike Rounds, GOP lead of the Senate AI caucus, to stay in town and address the pressing concerns over the technologies unchecked growth and AI data centers littering our lands. Brian is running to retire Mike Rounds, whose campaign checks come from AI special interests.”
