EXCLUSIVE: Former Congressman Weldon Claims Bin Laden Hid in Iran After 9/11 – “We Sent Troops to the Wrong Country” (VIDEO)
Former Pennsylvania Congressman Curt Weldon recently sat down with investigative journalist Pete Santilli and unloaded what he calls the biggest cover-up in modern American history: an Army intelligence program named Able Danger identified Mohammed Atta and the New York al-Qaeda cell a full year before September 11, 2001 — and attempts to hand that intelligence to the Justice Department were blocked three separate times.
Weldon, who oversaw the cutting-edge data-mining effort at the Army’s Information Dominance Center while serving as vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, says the charts naming Atta were produced before the attacks and later shown to National Security Advisor Steve Hadley, who allegedly admitted President Bush had never been briefed on the program.
Weldon pins the blackout on institutional sabotage.
He says the CIA rejected his 1999 push for a fusion center, Jamie Gorelick’s “firewall” memo kept military intel away from civilian law enforcement, and the 9/11 Commission — run by executive director Philip Zelikow — scrubbed Able Danger and the congressionally created Gilmore Commission from its final report.
After Army intel officer Colonel Tony Shaffer tried to brief Zelikow on Able Danger, Weldon says Shaffer’s security clearance was yanked and his career torched.
He also points to former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger stealing and destroying classified 9/11 documents from the National Archives before testimony, walking away with what Weldon calls a slap-on-the-wrist plea deal.
The former congressman goes further still. Citing what he describes as at least ten independent sources — including a U.S. operative “in the room when the deal was cut” — Weldon claims Osama bin Laden was given safe harbor in Iran after 9/11.
Weldon also says U.S. intelligence had a month’s warning before the USS Cole bombing and that he was personally warned of a 2005 Iranian plot to crash a Canadian airliner into New Hampshire’s Seabrook nuclear reactor.

Weldon finished the Able Danger manuscript with former CIA analyst Dr. Peter Pry in 2006, then sat on it for nearly two decades after lawyers told him publishing would intensify attacks on his family — including a federal raid on his daughter’s home just before the 2006 election that cost him his seat.
He says new documents from the vast House archives finally forced his hand on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Weldon is now calling on President Trump to appoint a new, impartial 9/11 commission, engage Putin on the buried history of U.S.–Russia offers to lock down fissile material headed for Iran, and expose what he brands a deep-state machine that spins intelligence, silences whistleblowers, and sells endless war.
