Is this Britain's worst tenant? Stunned landlord recovers flat only to find it buried in empty cans, food wrappers and cigarette packets (12 Pics)

A DISGUSTING mountain of pornography, cigarette packets and thousands of beer cans were discovered by an appalled landlord who had to pay more than £10,000 to clean the property.
An over-flowing toilet, stale fish and chips and in excess of 6,000 lager tins were found by 56-year-old owner Graham Holland, who has now rented the flat to a new tenant.
The responsible inhabitant, 68-year-old Michael Grant, moved out suddenly from the Sittingbourne dwelling in Kent, saying he was suffering from issues and has subsequently died.
These pictures expose how a tenant from hell lived for several years, in a property that had so much rubbish he could not see the floor.
Graham said he thought he was in a horror film when he walked into his flat in Sittingbourne last summer, after twelve years of being unable to access it.
The 56-year-old electrician told Kent Online: "It was certainly a shock. The floor was absolutely filled with junk. It was unbelievable the amount of cans and packets on the floor.

"When I saw the mess I was expecting rats and spiders to come crawling out but we didn't find one bug.
"He obviously went to the fish and chip shop a lot because there were bits of fish on one side of the room and then black, rock-hard chips on the other. It was absolutely disgusting.
"We started to clear it but had to give up after a couple of days because there was just so much of it."
Mr Holland bought the property 30 years ago with his wife and converted it by himself.
He said it took over four days just to empty the flat without cleaning it too.

Before that the landlord hadn't accessed the property for a decade because Grant, 68, refused to let anybody into the flat.
Mr Grant eventually decided to move out of the flat last year after Mr Holland increased the rent for the first time in twelve years.
He argued that the woman in the ground floor flat who had locked the gate - so couldn't take the rubbish down.
Commenting on the photos, one horrified reader said: "This is something out of a horror movie and at least they could get some money from all the aluminium cans.
"I am surprised the neighbours did not notice the stench from all the beer & mouldy food? Beggars belief!"
