MOB TYRANNY: BLM threatens ‘riots’ and ‘bloodshed’ if NYC mayor gets tough on crime

In a recent debate between NYC mayor elect Eric Adams and Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Hawk Newsome, Newsome promised there would be ‘riots, fire, and bloodshed’ if the mayor got tougher on crime.  “If they think they are going back to the old ways of policing then we’re going to take to the streets again,” the BLM leader said after the debate.   “There will be riots. There will be fire, and there will be bloodshed,” he said.  One of the core tenets of Eric Adams mayoral campaign was to take a tougher stance on crime in the face of a violent crime surge in the city.

At issue was Adam’s promise to reinstate a controversial anti-crime unit that handled gun traficking, drugs, and violent crime in the city.  The unit was composed of undercover plainclothes police officers and was abolished in 2020 after it came under heavy scrutiny.  The officer who put Eric Garner in to a chokehold and set off BLM protests/riots across the country, Daniel Pantaleo, was a part of the unit.  Despite the threats from BLM leadership, Adams plans to move forward with reinstating the anti-crime unit.

The mayor’s tough on crime policies come on the heels of a surge in violent crime in New York and Democrat ran cities across the country.  In New York, overall crime is up 22% from 2020 and shootings are up 166%.  In the Democratic stronghold of Chicago, shootings are up 220% from last year, according to the Chicago Sun Times.  The violent crime surge comes on the heels of renewed calls by radical left wing activists to “defund the police”.  A measure to defund the police in Minneapolis was supported by 44% of Minneapolis residents in an election last week.
