White mom sparks furious controversy for having her sons kneel and pray to black women - as critics accuse her of using the BLM movement for 'clout'

A white mother has gone viral for having her sons kneel and pray to black women in a video that has divided viewers, with critics accusing her of using the Black Lives Matter movement for 'clout.'

In the clip, TikTok user @teenychamp is holding one of her children as she states that 'black women are the reason Donald Trump is no longer gonna be our president.' She then pans the camera to her three sons kneeling and praying.

The mom ends the video by having them lip-sync an audio track, saying  'All hail black women,' as her kids bow on a play mat behind her.

'Me teaching my white boys how to behave,' she captioned the footage, adding: 'They are marching around chanting "all hail black women' after this took 5 takes.'

The clip has been viewed more than 13.3 million times since it was posted on December 30, but the response has been mixed. A number of TikTokers admitted they were 'confused' by what they were seeing.

Some commenters said they were relieved because they thought the video was headed in a negative direction at first, while others praised her for raising her sons 'right.'

However, a few people questioned her intentions, with one TikTok user writing: 'I'm a woman of color and agreed. But it's annoying when people make these videos just for clout and not because they genuinely agreed.'

That particular comment rubbed @teenychamp the wrong way, and she filmed a follow-up video to try to set the record straight.

'I know the type you're talking about, so I'm not upset or anything, but I just wanted to clarify that that's not why I made this video,' she said.

'If you want to go onto my page and see some of my content, you can see some of the things regularly do, the actions that I take to help the communities that are marginalized in the United States.'

The mom noted that she has gone viral before and is known for making informational videos about 'women and people of color and the history that's left out of our textbooks.'

Controversial: The video was shared on Twitter and the response there was far more negative, with critics calling it 'cringe' and sharing memes to show they're embarrassed for her

New York Times style reporter Taylor Lorenz shared the woman's video on Twitter this week, writing: 'This mom on TikTok is going viral for having her kids kneel and pray to black women.'

The response there was far more negative, with critics calling it 'cringe' and sharing memes to show they're embarrassed for her.

'If we run out of clout to mine here on earth, we'll have to mine clout from asteroids,' one person responded.

'Is she right? Yes,' another tweeted. 'Does she get to become famous for it? No.'
