SNL lampoons a VERY gassy Rudy Giuliani's election fraud lawsuits with his 'drunk' star witness Melissa Carone boasting about signing 'after Davids' while My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell hides ballots in his sheets

SNL returned to the airwaves on Saturday night after having been off for almost a month with Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the result of the 2020 election ripe for lampooning.

The show opened with Kate McKinnon's portrayal of Rudy Giuliani's appearance at the Michigan legislature earlier this week.

It was all part of President Trump attempt to stay in office despite losing to Joe Biden by more than 7 million votes and potentially more than 70 Electoral College votes.

The joke centered around how Giuliani appeared to fart audibly during the hearing while speaking to Michigan legislators, before a colorful cast of characters took to the stand and proceeded to testify.

McKinnon's Giuliani said she was bringing out witnesses who are 'highly intelligent, barely intoxicated individuals.'

Cecily Strong appeared as Giuliani's witness Melissa Carone, a freelance consultant who briefly worked for Dominion Voting Systems who alleged she witnessed voting fraud.

'I swear to tell my whole story and nothing but my story, so help me Gob,' Strong's Carrone said.

In real life, Carone's testimony appeared incoherent at time as she delivered a somewhat halting testimony and could be heard slurring her words.

Strong suggested through her caricature that she might have been drunk during the hearing.

'Please tell us what exactly you witnessed with the Dominion machines,' asked Mikey Day who played a Michigan state senator with gusto.

'Excuse me, maybe try losing the attitude first? Just like you,' Strong's Carrone replied. 'Lost all those Trump ballots?' she asked while making air quotes.

'I don't handle ballots,' Day replied.

'Yeah, exactly, so you wouldn't know, would you?' Strong replied.

'Please just talk,' asked Ego Nwodim as another Michigan legislator.

'You're gonna regret saying that cuz I personally saw hundreds if not thousands of dead people vote,' Strong's Carrone replied. 'I'm not lying. I signed an After David,' she joked, meaning to say 'affidavit'.

'You saw them?' asked Nwodim.

'Yeah basically, yes. I remember cuz I was walking out they were walking in,' Strong's Carrone replied. 'And then they gave their votes to Democrats, and then you probably did something crazy with them, damn.'

'I don't handle ballots, and I'm a Republican,' Day interjected.

'Then you're literally useless. You have no use. Did you check every poll? Did you talk to all the dead people?' Strong's Carrone asked.

'We're state senators,' Nwodim reminded her.

A couple of other 'fake witnesses' peppered the remainder of the sketch.

Heidi Gardner appeared playing a witness who said she ate ballots as the testimonies started to become increasingly bizarre, including a story about an alien abduction.

'Nicole Kidman's character from The Undoing,' played by SNL's Chloe Fineman showed up alongside cast member Beck Bennett as Mike Lindell of My Pillow which resulted in some humorous dialogue.

'Did you know a Democrat can hide over a million fake ballots in a My Pillow and still get a great night's sleep? Refreshed and ready to steal an election. Thanks to My Pillow,' Bennett's Lindell said.

'Mr. Lindell, is this a commercial for My Pillow?' asked Day.

'I would like it to be, yes!' joked Bennet.

Nwodim then chimed in to ask: 'Are we just gonna let any random person come in here and start talking?' At which point Strong's Carrone responded for a final time.

'Excuse me. We are all here under oath. And if you wanna talk about random, I voted for Trump yet Biden won?. Hmmmmmmm. Maybe a little too random!' she said.

Jason Bateman appeared as this week's host in what was his first outing on the comedy sketch show since 2005.

This week's musical guest was country star Morgan Wallen.

Wallen had originally been slated to appear earlier in the season but was dropped after he was seen out partying on his Instagram page without a mask and breaking COVID-19 safety protocols for the NBC as a result.
