Man buys an $1800 bike for $100 from a thief and returns it to its owner
When the world shows its ugly side, sometimes a person from the opposite end of the spectrum proves that there’s still good out there willing to counter the evildoers. One such English bloke, who goes by the username @SteBurke44 on Twitter, spotted a bike online that he deduced was stolen, and so he took to Twitter to look for the bike’s rightful owner.
The man knew that the bike was priced at a ballpark of £1350 ($1,800), so in hopes of returning the bike to the rightful owner, SteBurke44 purchased the “hot bike” from the thieves for £80 ($100), and proceeded to blast out to Twitter if the rightful owner would come forward to claim what was theirs. Shortly after, he was DM’d.
Let’s take a look at a nice feel-good story to start our day…

As luck would have it, the bike’s rightful owner had recently had his house robbed (or “had off” as the slang goes, apparently). In addition to the bike, the thieves also stole his credit cards and passport.

Our good Samaritan showed up to the rightful owner’s house with bike in tow.
A very slang-filled text exchange ensued. The basic translation was, “Hey, I think I’m outside” to witch the owner replied, “Thank you, I’ll make sure to let you in and repay you ASAP!”

And even though random people asked to split the cost of the bike with @SteBurke44, he never intended to be reimbursed (or to make any profit) for the money he paid to retrieve the bike. This was simply about making someone’s day who was likely feeling down and out.

After noticing how generous and wholesome the man was, Halfords offered to give the man a brand new bike as a reward for his good deed!

The world cheered the lad on with admiration!!
As well they should have.
