Woman Charged With Battery on Pro-Life Demonstrator Outside New Abortion Clinic in Illinois

A pro-abortion woman has been charged with battery after throwing a coffee on a pro-life protester outside a new abortion clinic in Illinois.

The incident took place outside the new RFD Family Planning abortion clinic in Rockford, which just opened on Tuesday.

“I’d rather be doing medical stuff, than political stuff, it has been an interesting journey,” said Dr. Dennis Christensen, the clinic’s owner. “I’m glad that we are able to open the doors, I’m disappointed it took so long to do it.”

According to a report from Life Dynamics, “Christensen began killing unborn babies in 1973 — the year Roe v. Wade was decided.”

Life Dynamics noted that in 2014, Christensen, told the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal that he had already performed 85,000 to 95,000 abortions.

“So I see it as a calling, I guess,” Christensen said. “But I’ve been called, I’ve served and now I’d like to call someone else.”

In a 2001 interview, Christensen told the Wisconsin State Journal, “When I meet my maker, I think she’s going to say, ‘Way to go!’“.

Hours after Christensen’s new clinic opened for the first time, protesters clashed outside.

Nataly Rivera, 26, of Rockford, is accused of throwing a cup of coffee at and attempting to to knock the phone out of the hand of an anti-abortion activist outside the clinic, according to a report from local station WIFR.

The protests reportedly ended when Rivera was taken into custody by the Rockford Police Department.

“It’s unfortunate that a pro-lifer was attacked,” Rockford Family Initiative President Kevin Rilott told the station. “But, we understand that when you stand up and defend life, things like this may happen.”

Despite the violence, Rilott said that they will not be stopping and will continue to stand outside and urge mothers to consider other options.

“The only intention of the business is to end human life,” said Rilott. “We will have people out there on a regular basis, we’ll offer help to mothers in need.”
