‘We Tried To Warn Them’: Megyn Kelly Slams Dems, Notes Poll Showing Suburban Women Flooding To GOP

Megyn Kelly, seeing a report that Latino and suburban voters are turning toward the GOP in the 2022 election, pointed out that much of America warned Democrats that their policies would engender their destruction at the ballot box, but Democrats didn’t listen.

The report to which Kelly responded came from The Wall Street Journal, which reported on Tuesday:

The GOP has seen a shift in its favor among several voter groups, including Latino voters and women, and particularly white suburban women. That group, which the pollsters said makes up 20% of the electorate, shifted 26 percentage points away from Democrats since the Journal’s August poll and now favors the GOP by 15 percentage points.

“We tried to warn them about school closures, covid overreach, the sexualization of our young children, CRT and radical trans ideology in our schools,” Kelly tweeted. “They didn’t listen. Now they will hear these women loud and clear from the ballot boxes across America.”

One GOP strategist from Wisconsin told Politico in early September, “Suburban women want to have control over their kids’ education. Suburban women want to know their families are going to be safe. Suburban women are concerned about how much it costs to go to the grocery store and fill up at the pump.”

In 2020, Joe Biden got 54% of suburban voters, eight points higher than Hillary Clinton in 2016. Although Donald Trump won among white suburban voters in 2020 by four points, that was a huge drop-off from 2016, when he won white suburban voters by 16 points, according to Pew Research.

Two weeks before the 2020 election, FiveThirtyEight noted that 54% of white suburban women preferred Biden to 45% for Trump.

Asked in the WSJ poll which party they would support in their congressional district at the moment the poll was taken, 46% of voters chose the GOP while 44% chose Democrats, a five-point switch from August when the Democrats led by three points.

Sixty-four percent of voters said that inflation was rising and making their financial life harder; 36% said the financial strains were major. The WSJ poll also found that 48% of voters trusted the congressional GOP more to handle inflation as opposed to 27% who favored congressional Democrats. Fifty-four percent of voters felt President Biden’s policies had not benefitted the economy, literally twice the 27% who felt the opposite.
