Judge Allows Devin Nunes’ Defamation Against MSNBC To Go Forward – “Actual Malice” Plausibly Alleged

The left-wing media is beginning to be held accountable for their lies.

Rachel Maddow claimed that Devin Nunes never handed over a package he received from Andriy Derkach, a pro-Russia Ukrainian legislator to the FBI.

The package was handed over – Nunes then sued, alleging that Maddow knew the package had been handed over but wanted to hurt his reputation.

Reuters reported:

Maddow was discussing a package addressed to Nunes from Andriy Derkach, a pro-Russia Ukrainian legislator, and said Nunes “refused to hand it over to the FBI, which is what you should do if you get something from somebody who is sanctioned by the U.S. as a Russian agent.”

Nunes’ complaint, which seeks damages, said MSNBC and Maddow knew the package had been turned over, but instead “set out to inflict maximum pain and suffering on plaintiff in order to harm plaintiff’s reputation.”

A New York judge is now allowing the defamation case to go forward.

U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel ruled that Nunes’ claim of actual malice was plausible.

The Hill reported:

A judge in New York has ruled that a defamation case brought against NBCUniversal by former Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) can proceed.

In a 22-page decision, U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel wrote Nunes’s attorneys had “plausibly allege[d] actual malice” in the case, Reuters reported, noting the justice did not make a determination about the merits of the former congressman’s claim against the media company.

Maddow is not a defendant in the case – the lawsuit was filed against NBCUniversal.

Will justice be done?
