Kamala Harris Ignores Reporter Asking About her Claims Hurricane Ian Relief will Prioritize ‘Communities of Color’ (VIDEO)

Kamala Harris over the weekend ignored a reporter asking about her racist promise to provide Hurricane Ian relief to communities based on race.

Harris said resources and disaster relief in response to Hurricane Ian should be based on equity.

Ft. Myers was destroyed by the 9.5 foot surge and flooding.

Governor DeSantis described the damage as that of a 500-year flood after a 9+ foot surge in Fort Myers.

Rather than showing true leadership and reassuring all victims of Hurricane Ian they will receive the help and resources needed to rebuild their lives, Harris made it about race.

“It is our lowest income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions and impacted by issues that are not of their own making,” Harris said. “And so we have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity, understanding not everyone starts out at the same place.

“And if we want people to be in an equal place, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities and do that work,” Harris continued.

Harris received major backlash for her racist promise.

FEMA Administrator had to clarify Harris’ remarks on Sunday.

“We’re going to support all communities,” Criswell said. “I committed that to the governor, I commit to you right here that all Floridians are going to be able to get the help that is available to them through our programs.”

Harris ignored a reporter asking if she could explain what she meant about ‘equity’ for hurricane relief.

“Vice President, can you clarify what you meant about equity for hurricane relief,” the reporter said.

Harris walked away.

Governor DeSantis’ rapid response director Christina Pushaw blasted Kamala Harris for refusing to clarify her comments.

“This is false. [Harris’] rhetoric is causing undue panic and must be clarified,” said Pushaw. “FEMA Individual Assistance is already available to all Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian, regardless of race or background.”
