Army Suspends Retired Three-Star General, Launches Investigation For Tweet Mocking Jill Biden’s Abortion Post

The U.S. Army has indefinitely suspended a retired three-star general from a consulting position, pending the results of an investigation into a tweet mocking an abortion post from First Lady Jill Biden.

USA TODAY confirmed that retired Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, who was “advising senior military officers, staff and students participating in war games and other military activities,” has been suspended without pay from his $92 an hour contract over a reply tweet to FLOTUS.

“For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us,” Biden tweeted on June 24, reacting to the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade. “And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away.”

“Glad to see you finally know what a woman is,” Volesky mocked FLOTUS in a reply tweet.

Leading Democrats and the White House have been hammered by critics for advocating for policy that differentiates boys and girls and men and women based on gender identity, rather than biological sex.

Notably, The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh asked the simple question, “What is a woman?” when challenging the radical gender theory. In his groundbreaking documentary “What is a Woman?” academics and others espousing the ideology struggled to answer the question.

“They say that biology has nothing to do with womanhood,” Walsh has written at The Daily Wire. “Well, then what does have something to do with womanhood? If we cannot define a woman physically, how can we define her? What is a woman? What does the word mean? If you are on the Left, what exactly are you trying to say the word, woman, means? When you say that such and such biological man is a woman, what are you actually trying to convey about that person? What do you mean that Lia Thomas is a woman? What is that supposed to mean?”

Volesky’s criticism of Biden seems to be in the same vein.

An Army spokeswoman confirmed to USA TODAY that it was the commander of the Combined Arms Center, Lt. Gen. Theodore Martin, who suspended Volesky.

An investigation into the reply tweet will ultimately determine Volesky’s fate.

The three-star general, who boasts a Silver Star, in the past has tweeted that the House’s January 6 committee “is all about partisan politics,” Axios reported
