Nicholas Sandmann Reaches Settlement With Major News Outlet

Nicholas Sandmann was defamed by the media after a viral confrontation with a Native American activist in 2019.  The young conservative activist successfully sued both the Washington Post and CNN, and was awarded $250 Million in damages from The Washington Post and $200 Million from CNN.  Now, he has reached a settlement with yet another major news outlet.  The Epoch Times Reports

“Nicholas Sandmann has announced that he’s reached a settlement with NBCUniversal after more than two years since he filed a defamation lawsuit against the media company.

“At this time I would like to release that NBC and I have reached a settlement. The terms are confidential,” the 19-year-old Kentucky teen wrote on Twitter.”

Sandmann and NBCUniversal agreed to dismiss the case “with prejudice and in its entirety”.  Sandmann became a target of liberal ire after a heavily edited video in 2019 showed him confronting activist Nathan Phillips at a pro life protest in Washington DC.  As more details emerged, it became clear that Sandmann and his fellow students at the protest were not harassing Phillips and that Phillips was the one who approached them.

Sandmann has told 18 year-old Kyle Rittenhouse that he should also sue the media for defamation. “This is the problem with liberal media outlets in the United States,”.  “They want to get the story first, get the most views, make the most money, and advance the agenda from liberal patrons. These outlets cover themselves when they are wrong with small footnotes at the ends of long articles, clarifying that new information has come out and that they have updated their coverage.” He wrote for the Daily Mail.  Rittenhouse was acquitted last month in a year-long trial where he was accused of murder.
