Dramatic moment cops arrest fleeing thieves who ransacked San Francisco Louis Vuitton store after smash-and-grab robbery

New footage shows police chase down one of the robbers who allegedly completely decimated a Louis Vuitton store in San Francisco after it was ransacked by a group of more than a dozen thieves.

San Francisco police responded Friday to the Union Square Louis Vuitton store shortly after 8 p.m. where they 'observed several suspects involved in criminal acts.'

Video posted on social media showed the brazen robbery unfold.

Onlookers captured masked thieves running through the streets with their hands full of clothing items and bags.

In the same video, a group of officers are seen chasing another thief to their parked getaway car and bashing in the windows with batons, dragging the culprit out of the car and restraining them on the sidewalk.

Other footage shows the decimated storefront with shattered glass all over the sidewalk and totally empty shelves.

Police confirmed they had arrested multiple suspects and that the Louis Vuitton store may have not been the only one targeted.

A district supervisor that represented the area told KTVU that six suspects were arrested and there were no injuries.

An eyewitness said she saw more than a dozen people leave the store carrying as much merchandise as the could, CBS San Francisco reported.

KTVU reported that their camera crews saw a nearby Fendi and Yves Saint Laurent store hit by thieves, as well.

The brazen robbery comes amid a wave of thefts in the Bay Area.

As of October 31, San Francisco police have received reports of 810 burglaries or attempted burglaries this year in the jurisdiction of the Mission District Police station, marking a 13 percent increase from the same time last year, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

It also comes one day after footage of another Louis Vuitton store being robbed was released.

Police said on Thursday a gang of 14 thieves stole about $120,000 worth of merchandise in broad daylight from a Chicago-area Louis Vuitton store.

Shocking video shows the gang entering the store at the Oak Brook Center one at a time on Thursday after an armed guard went on a short break.

Once they were all inside, the thieves pulled out trash bags from their coats and jumped to every corner of the store, stuffing their bags full of designer products.

Some of the thieves took everything they could carry by hand, and in seconds, they all ran out of the store, located about 18 miles west of downtown Chicago.
