The department said the two suspects knocked on one of the homes and assaulted the resident before forcing their way inside.

But the man, who has not been identified, fought back against the two invaders and shot them, police told Fox News.

The attackers were both left with injuries which were considered non-life threatening.

Police said that they were still investigating the incident.

They haven't yet provided any further details about the age or identity of the resident or whether there were other people in the house at the time of the incident.
