López-Campos, an alleged member of the MS-13, was moved to New York and was scheduled to appear at the First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday for his arraignment on second degree murder.

Investigators say Abrego Gómez was killed after he appeared in a social media post 'flashing gang signs of the 18th Street gang,' a rival of the MS-13 gang, Suffolk County District Attorney Tim Sini said during a March 2019 press conference.

López-Campos purportedly aided Elmer Gilberto Santos Contreras, 24, of Roosevelt, New York, and Anthony Gutiérrez-Mesa, 24, of Valley Stream, New York, in murdering Abrego Gómez.
