Me-OUCH! Cat gets ‘brain freeze’ as it tries ice cream for the first time in hilarious footage

This is the hilarious moment a cat gets its first taste of ice cream and instantly regrets it.
The video posted on June 3 shows the pet taking a mouthful and then recoiling with its mouth wide open - as though suffering from 'brain freeze'.
The footage, believed to have been shot in Canada, starts by showing a man who appears to be the cat's owner offering it some ice cream on the tip of a spoon.

It only takes one lick for the cat to decide it isn’t a fan of the ice cream. It spares no effort in showing how much it dislikes the desert by scrunching its face up and falling backwards.
Sabrina Bernatchez, who lives in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada, posted the video on TikTok.
It has so far been liked more than 340,000 times – no small feat as it is the first and only video on her account.
One viewer on TikTok commented: ‘Most dramatic brain freeze ever.’
Another said: ‘That cat looks like he’d/she’d just saw a whole new world.’

A third viewer commented: ‘Omg. I laughed so hard and tears. That face.’
Other people on Twitter were more concerned about the welfare of the cat after it tried the ice cream.
One person described the video as 'cruel'.
Another said: 'Goodness doesn't look too keen on it, perhaps the cat has sensitive teeth.'
According to TheHappyCatSite cats have no sweet sensor - so cannot detect the sugar in ice cream - and are lactose intolerant to varying degrees.
The site suggests that giving ice cream to cats regularly is not advisable but small amounts as a treat can be okay.
