‘DISGRACEFUL’: White House Blasts CNN, MSNBC For Cutting Away From Daily COVID-19 Briefing

The White House blasted two liberal news networks for repeatedly cutting away from President Trump’s daily coronavirus task force briefing, calling their actions “disgraceful.”
“Pretty disgraceful that @CNN and @MSNBC have both cut away from this @WhiteHouse briefing with @realDonaldTrump and @Mike_Pence during a global pandemic. Thank you to @FoxNews for keeping Americans informed. #COVID19,” White House spokesman Judd Deere wrote on Twitter.
A CNN spokesman responded to Deere’s tweet with a statement saying, “If the White House wants to ask for time on the network, they should make an official request. Otherwise we will make our own editorial decisions,” The Hill reported.
An MSNBC network spokesperson said the network aired the briefing for more than an hour before cutting away “because the information no longer appeared to be valuable to the important ongoing discussion around public health.”
But it’s easy to imagine if Barack Obama — The Chosen One — were president, the mainstream media would cover every second of his briefings.
The MSM — which has been trying to take down Trump ever since he took office — have been hammering the president relentlessly, blaming him for everything from the spread of the virus to the lack of masks in health care facilities.
On Friday, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow accused the president of lying during his briefings, saying “we should, all of us, stop broadcasting it.”
And while the White House coronavirus task force briefing on Monday, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host, Joe Scarborough, wrote on Twitter: “There is no public benefit to this briefing. The networks should all cut away.”

“Bland pronouncements, the repeating of catch phrases daily, bad medical advice. No science, no doctors, no Fauci. Just Trump’s Roy Cohn,” Scarborough wrote.
But, as usual, Scarborough was wrong.  Dr. Deborah [Birx] — the response coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force — is standing directly behind him and has spoken multiple times. What even is this tweet?” Washington Examiner reporter Jerry Dunleavy wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci, an immunologist who serves as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Tuesday that there is no rift between him and Trump, also relentlessly reported by the MSM.

“I would wish that that would stop because we have a much bigger problem here than trying to point out differences,” the nation’s top infectious diseases expert said in a radio interview on Tuesday. “When I have made recommendations he’s taken them; he’s never countered or overridden me.
The idea of pitting one against the other is just not helpful. I wish that would stop and we’d look ahead at the challenge we have to pull together to get over this thing,” the doctor said.
Fauci also applauded the president for the quick actions he took to stem the spread of the virus.
It is extremely important to look at and take into very serious consideration what goes on in other countries. Every country is a bit different in some way, but we learn a lot. We learn a lot from China and we’re learning a lot from Italy. Italy has a very good health care system; Italy has a lot of very good people who are on this and they’re going through a very difficult time, so that’s one of the things that’s very concerning.
I believe Italy got into this much trouble for a number of reasons which hopefully we have avoided, namely the influx of cases from China were not shut off immediately in Italy and one of the important things that we did was the president’s decision to very early on, stop the influx, first from China, and now from Europe, particularly the countries Italy, France and others, the entire European Union. Because one of the things that feeds the country is when you have influx of cases from outside. Once they’re here, then it’s up to us to mitigate the spread throughout the country.
