We get what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Josh Harder are trying to do here, they’re acting like Betsy DeVos is trying to hurt THE CHILDREN. But really all they’re actually doing is admitting the federal government has zero business in public education.
Only 1/3 of American school kids in public ed can read at their grade level.
Way to go, public school.

Yet Betsey DeVos is trying to cut *every* Federal literacy program in the country.

Ask any teacher at the local level to describe the impact of either of these federal programs mentioned on their daily practice . You won’t find any who can because they make no difference.

Stop blaming schools and start blaming parents. Flushing billions of dollars down the drain on programs THAT AREN'T WORKING continues to be the calling card for liberals. Enough with the spending to feel better about yourselves, do something different to get results for once.

That’s always their solution, throw money at it.
Gotta love the Left and their undying loyalty to raising taxes and giving the government more power.
Teach kids how to read and not how to get a score on a worthless standardized test at age 7. Reallocate resources. Pay teachers better. You will get better results. Stop the rhetoric and DO SOMETHING.

@AOC US education system is broken, we can’t keep doing more of the same. US education system has been operating under Democratic designed Common Core (and predecessors) curriculum for 30+ years, these policies have caused the failure. Time to try something else; end Dept of Ed.
