ARMY: 'Horny Bastard' First Sergeant Punished For Affair With One Of First Female Infantry Basic Training Grads

The United States Army has confirmed that a male company first sergeant had an affair with a female infantry private, one of the first women to graduate from infantry basic training. Both the sergeant and the private are continuing to serve within the division, but have completed disciplinary action issued against them.
"By all accounts, an investigation into the affair found [Sgt. 1st Class Chase] Usher was a high-speed infantryman and the relationship didn’t cause any questions of favoritism in the unit, though the rumors about the two caused a lot of doubt among the soldiers he was meant to lead," reports the Army Times.
The two reportedly engaged in a consensual September-October relationship, though Usher denied the affair in a sworn statement.
A soldier's sworn statement, which was obtained by a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by the Army Times, said Usher "was a horny bastard when it came to his personal life," but "didn't foster a hostile environment to females at work."
"He often preached to us to look out for females in our ranks and not get into trouble with them and not have relationships with them. All the while, he was doing all of this," said the soldier.
Both individuals completed "disciplinary action deemed appropriate by the chain of command," said division spokesman Lt. Col. Ramon Osorio. "Both continue to serve within the division, however, the first sergeant was relieved of his position and currently serves on the staff of a different unit."
Dozens of officers were apparently aware of the relationship before the investigation into the misconduct was launched in January, after a representative from the website U.S. Army W.T.F.! Moments asked 82nd leadership about a photo of the duo "canoodling" outside of a pub.
"Witnesses included three women, who all agreed that Usher treated them as equals in the company," reports the Army Times. "In a work environment he treats both fairly from what I can tell," said one soldier's statement.
The investigation resulted in no evidence of an environment of sexual harassment or gendered mistreatment. However, Usher was found to have "allegedly made several inappropriate sexual comments that can form the basis of a hostile work environment complaint."
"At multiple safety briefs, [redacted] encourages the company to 'get [laid]' or comments that he will be doing so over the weekend; after a company run or before a company rehearsal he has bragged about 'getting some' that morning," claimed a soldier.
The incident is reportedly the first time an "inappropriate relationship between a female infantryman and a member of her leadership" has gone public.
"By their actions Usher and [redacted] tarnished the integration of female infantrymen into maneuver battalions," said an investigating officer. "Their actions could be detrimental to the image of female integration into combat arms units."
