Hero off-duty US deputy saves a baby after he suddenly stops breathing in his terrified mother's car

An off-duty police officer saved a baby’s life after he stopped breathing inside his mum’s car.  Deputy Jeremie Nix was in his police cruiser driving on Southeast Lake Weir and 17th Street in Ocala, Florida, when a woman in a white sedan flagged him down.

The distraught mother, Nechole Crowell, had her flasher lights on and had been trying to flag down help for her baby King. When he saw the unresponsive boy, deputy Nix sprung to action, kneeling on the ground to administer CPR and other treatment to the three-month-old.

But the boy’s condition wasn’t improving, leaving the officer to rush him to the nearby Ocala Regional Medical Centre. The Marion County Sherriff’s Office shared updates about the baby’s condition afterwards. The department’s YouTube page said: ‘Deputy Nix delivered the child to medical personnel, who then began treating the child. ‘We are happy to report that Baby Kingston is doing very well and doctors say he will make a full recovery!!’

‘Doctors also said that because of K9 Deputy Nix’s actions, Baby Kingston is alive today. ‘We are tremendously proud of Deputy Nix and we can already see that he and Baby Kingston will have a deep connection that will last a lifetime!!’

Heartwarming pictures taken inside the hospital show the hero officer standing next to baby King in his hospital bed. King’s mum took to Facebook after to thank Deputy Nix for saving her son’s life. She said: ”Let me just say that yesterday GOD showed me just how real he was.

‘My son KING was barely breathing, & fighting for his life. My sister & I noticed an officer sitting at a red light & we got his attention. ‘With his fast thinking HE & GOD saved my son…. after his shift he and his beautiful wife came to shands just to see him again. ‘His word to me was “Don’t you worry, i will not leave until i help save your son!”.

She added: ‘GOD had me in the right place because he knew you needed me… Thank you officer Jay Nix from the Ocala Sheriffs Office K-9 unit!! ‘I just wanted the world to know how great this officer is, & how GREAT GOD is…….. not all officers are bad, he’s one of many good guys ❤️❤️ King and I will forever appreciate you.’
