Judge Calls Jan 6th Protester A “decent guy” Who Has “lived a good life” And Has Been “an upstanding citizen” Gives Him Sentence That Exceeds Prosecutor’s Recommendation

Another January 6th defendant has been pilloried by the Biden regime’s corrupt prosecutors and a judge whose sentence for Duke E. Wilson, a man who “lived a good life,” and has been an “upstanding citizen,” exceeded the prosecutor’s recommendation.

Today, a story broke that the FBI induced a J6 defendant’s son to testify against him in court and act as an informant against his own father.  The defendant was reportedly crying in court as his own son used audio he secretly recorded of his conversations with his father to incriminate him.

Now, a January 6th defendant was sentenced to four years and three months in federal prison for participating in the January 6th demonstrations.  The man was described as an “upstanding citizen” by  Judge Royce Lamberth who sentenced him for months longer than the prosecutor’s recommendation.

Duke E. Wilson

The Epoch Times reports– A 68-year-old Idaho man who shoved a police officer, struck him with a plastic pipe, and then threw it at a line of police officers was sentenced Friday to four years and three months in federal prison for his part in the Jan. 6 violence at the U.S. Capitol.

Duke Edward Wilson, of Nampa, Idaho, was sentenced in Washington D.C. by U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth to a term five months longer than that sought by federal prosecutors, and at the top of the range set in federal sentencing guidelines.

“He’s like so many of the other folks who were there, I think he went there with the best of intentions,” said Peterson, a federal public defender based in Boise, Idaho. “He didn’t go there intending to overthrow the United States government.

“He didn’t go there intending to cause a riot or be involved in a riot,” Peterson said.

Judge Lamberth noted Wilson’s solid upbringing, saying he appears to be a “decent guy” who has “lived a good life” and been “an upstanding citizen.”

“You made a terrible mistake that day,” Lamberth said. “You’ve tried to fess up to it as best you could, but that was a horrible day for our country.”
