'We're not going to have a country left in three years': Trump predicts America will come to an end before the 2024 election

Former President Donald Trump predicted that the U.S. would be over even before the next presidential election - in his latest dig at President Joe Biden

'And our country has gone really downhill in the last eight months, like nobody's ever seen before,' Trump told his former press secretary Sean Spicer, calling into Spicer's Newsmax show Tuesday night. 'And we're not going to have a country left in three years, I'll tell you that.'

Trump continued to protest that the 2020 election was 'rigged' against him - mentioning 2022 and 2024 in the same breath.

'And you go to these elections coming up in '22 and '24 - we're not going to have a country left. The election was rigged,' he told Spicer.

The ex-president wouldn't say if he would be running in the next presidential race, but strongly hinted that was the case.

'I will probably not comment on that, but I will tell you I think you will be very happy Sean,' he told Spicer. 'I think you and a lot of other people that love our country are going to be very happy.'

'I could make it soon, but that get's complicated,' Trump remarked on timing.

He previously said he wouldn't announce until he saw how the Republicans performed in the 2022 midterms.

'But you are going to be extremely happy,' Trump said. 'And this country is going to come back again.'

'We are a laughingstock all over the world,' Trump added, pointing to Biden's disastrous pull-out from Afghanistan and the continued surge of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump was speaking to Spicer during the final hours of California's recall election - a race the ex-president inserted himself in by suggesting that it would be 'rigged' in favor of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom - who was favored in the polls and was the eventual winner - and against Trump ally Larry Elder, a prominent conservative radio talk show host.

'The place is so Rigged, however, that a guy who can’t even bring water into their State, which I got federal approval to do (that is the hard part), will probably win,' Trump said in a statement Tuesday, going off about California water policy.

'In any event, it all doesn’t matter because the California Election is totally Rigged. Many people are already complaining that when they go to vote they are told, "I'm sorry, you already voted" (Just like 2020, among many other things). They then leave angry, but fortunately, even the Fake News Media has been reporting it,' Trump continued.

The race was called less than an hour after polls closed in the blue state, with Newsom ahead by several million votes.

On Wednesday, Trump's Save America PAC sent out a number of articles the former president wanted highlighted, but nothing on the California result.

Elder, who looked like he may try to challenge the election, conceded during his Tuesday night watch party in Orange County, California.

'Let's be gracious in defeat,' he said as his audience booed Newsom. 'We may have lost the battle, but we are going to win the war.'
