Triggered AOC pops off at Sarah Palin: ‘Does my existence make you mad? Call 1-800-CRY-NOW’

Former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as a “fake feminist” for her “menstruating” comments in reaction to Texas’ new abortion law triggering the young Democrat to clap back with a childish retort.

After being roasted online for her demeaning remarks while attempting to defend women’s rights during a CNN interview, Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Palin’s criticism of her comments in a tweet on Thursday.

“I’m so sorry Sarah Palin is mad at me! In fact, to address this I set up a special hotline just for her,” the New York Democrat wrote.

She also shared a video asking, “Does my existence make you mad? Does the fact that yes, I am a mouthpiece for the people of New York’s 14th Congressional District upset you? Well, I have help for you, call 1-800-CRY-NOW.”

In a follow-up tweet, she touted a fundraising website to address the Texas abortion issue.

The war of words between the women had begun with Ocasio-Cortez’s appearance on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” Tuesday where she blasted Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) over the “fetal heartbeat” law in Texas that bans abortions after six weeks. She asserted that he “speaks from a place of deep ignorance” and then questioned whether he really understands how women’s bodies work since he doesn’t menstruate.

“None of this is about supporting life. What this is about is controlling women’s bodies, & controlling people who are not cisgender men. This is about making sure that someone like me as a woman or any menstruating person in this country cannot make decisions over their own body,” she told Cooper.

“I don’t know if he is familiar with a menstruating person’s body,” stated Ocasio-Cortez. “In fact, I do know that he’s not familiar with a female, or menstruating person’s body.”

She declared that she found Abbott’s “comments disgusting.”

Palin shared her incredulous reaction while appearing on Fox News. The former Alaska Governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate tore into Ocasio-Cortez, saying she was “embarrassed for her.”

“Wow AOC, she’s really milking this, isn’t it?” Palin said on “Fox News Primetime.”

“She’s such a fake feminist that she would bring up an issue like this and try to use it to make some kind of political point,” she added.

“It just makes my stomach sick what she has done. She should be embarrassed,” Palin said. “She’s milking the whole female thing. And as a real feminist, I’m embarrassed for her.”

Palin’s cogent response triggered the leftist and her childish retort. Ocasio-Cortez then proved Palin right as she slammed the former governor but also launched a fundraising ActBlue page with a 1-800-CRY-NOW headline to help raise abortion funds in Texas. She claimed the effort has raised “over $250,000 to Texas grassroots pro-choice organizers and healthcare providers so far.”

Conservatives ridiculed her reference to those who menstruate during her interview.

Outkick founder Clay Travis mocked Ocasio-Cortez on his podcast with Buck Sexton. “It’s mind-blowing how broken the logic is for people like #AOC. And you can even hear her in her head thinking about — instead of just saying ‘woman’, she’s thinking ‘menstruating person,’” Travis said.

Others pointed out that only women actually menstruate:

Ocasio-Cortez responded to conservatives on Wednesday who mocked her comments, stating on Twitter, “Not just women! Trans men & non-binary people can also menstruate.”

“GOP mad at this are protecting the patriarchal idea that women are most valuable as uterus holders,” she remarked. “Trans, two-spirit, and non-binary people have always existed and will always exist. People can stay mad about that if they want, or they can grow up.”
