Trump teases 2024 run in interview with Candace Owens and promotes his new website over 'boring' Twitter before dinner with Ted Cruz with Mar-a-Lago

Donald Trump teased his 2024 presidential run in a new interview with Candace Owens and sat for dinner with Ted Cruz to plot how the Republicans would retake the House and Senate in the 2022 midterms.

The former president told conservative commentator Owens  to 'stay tuned' when asked whether he would make another bid for the White House.

He also touted his new website, 'From the desk of Donald J. Trump', and slammed the treatment of wife Melania since they left the White House.

The interview aired while Trump dined with Texas Senator Cruz at Mar-a-Lago before he moves to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey for the summer.

'He’s in great spirits! We spent the evening talking about working together to re-take the House & Senate in 2022,' Cruz tweeted.

'As you know, it's very early,' Trump said about his potential White House run during his phone interview with The Candace Owens Show, which was released on the Daily Wire website Tuesday night.

'But I think people are going to be very, very happy when I make a certain announcement.'

The ex-POTUS claimed campaign finance rules currently prevent him from making a declaration, but he stated: 'I look forward to doing an announcement at the right time.'

Trump even joked that Owens could run as his Vice Presidential nominee.

'What a good choice that would be,' he cooed. 'That would be fantastic. You would be fantastic!'

Elsewhere in Owens' wide-ranging interview, Trump blasted the media for their criticism of his wife Melania, who has kept a low profile since leaving the White House.

'She's a confident person, she's a good person. The people love her,' he told Owens.

However, he claimed the former FLOTUS was harshly treated by the press and is still unable to do anything to win them over.

'It's very very unfair - but she handles it very very well,' he proclaimed.

Meanwhile, Trump took aim at Republican Sen. Mitt Romney and President Joe Biden in the lengthy interview.

The ex-POTUS admitted he took 'great pleasure' in seeing Mitt Romney booed as he took to the stage at a conservative convention in Utah last week.

'People get it, you know they get it,' he stated.

'They know phonies and they know people we affectionately call people RINOs [Republicans in name only].'

He also mocked President Biden for continuing to wear a mask outdoors, despite the fact he has been fully vaccinated.

'I think he feels he actually looks better in a mask,' Trump tartly said.

Additionally, Trump took credit for the vaccine rollout, with more than 100 million Americans now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Trump touted his Operation Warp Speed initiative, and declared: 'Just the vaccine alone, even the enemy calls it a modern day miracle.'

'They praised Fauci and yet Fauci worked for me, so why aren't we praised?'

He also took time to promote his new website, 'From The Desk of Donald J. Trump'.

The site features statements released by the former President, and will be his way of directly communicating with fans following his bans from Twitter and Facebook.

'People are leaving Twitter and it's also become boring,' Trump railed.

'Now it's become very boring, very mundane. And it's not doing well. Certainly their stock is going down.'
