'I got the Chinese sh*t': COVID-denier Ted Nugent says he thought he was dying after testing positive for COVID - after previously calling virus a 'leftist scam' and 'not real pandemic'

Singer Ted Nugent has revealed he has tested positive for COVID-19, just months after he called the virus a 'leftist scam' and 'not a real pandemic'.

The 72-year-old musician announced his diagnosis in a Facebook Live video Monday telling fans 'I got the Chinese sh*t' and 'thought I was dying'.

Nugent has repeatedly dismissed the virus that has so far killed more than 567,000 Americans, branding it a 'leftist scam' and 'not a real pandemic' while pushing anti-vaccine conspiracy theories online.

He has also faced numerous accusations of racism, most recently calling George Floyd a 'thug punk criminal' and defending the cops standing trial for his death.

'You probably can't tell because my positive spirit and my positive attitude plows through the negative but I have an announcement to make,' he said to the camera.

'Everybody told me I should not announce this, but can you hear it, I have had flu symptoms for the last 10 days that have just, I thought I was dying.'

The staunch Donald Trump supporter said he had tested positive earlier that day as he went on to repeatedly use anti-Asian slurs to describe the pandemic.

'Today is the 19th of April 2021 during clusterf**k pandemic Chinese virus attack 21,' he said.

'I was tested positive today.'

He added: 'I got the Chinese sh*t,' echoing the former president's repeated insistence on calling COVID-19 the 'Chinese virus' which critics say has led to a surge in hate crimes targeting the Asian American population.

Nugent described his symptoms as 'just a clusterf**k' and is heard repeatedly coughing throughout the 8 minutes 50 seconds video.

Nugent said he could 'hardly crawl', describing symptoms including a 'stuffed-up head' and 'body-aches'.

'My god, what a pain in the a**. I literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days. But I did, I crawled,' he said.

The controversial musician doubled down on his previous comments that he will refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine saying 'nobody knows what's in it'.

'We'll go into the gory details of the great phenomenon of the Chinese virus so I said doc alright you want me to get tested? I haven't been tested and haven't taken the vaccine as nobody knows what's in it - actually some people do know what's in it,' he said.

The singer also went into a defense of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell who is being sued by Dominion Voting Systems for falsely claiming its ballot counting machines rigged the presidential election against Trump.

'What a great guy,' he said, claiming the 'enemies of America attack and try to attack and destroy the lives of entrepreneurs and businesses who stand up for God, family and country.'

He urged his followed to 'counterpunch the hate-ists and the Marxist cancel culture punks by supporting the people that they hate.'

Ever since the pandemic started ravaging America last spring, Nugent has dismissed COVID-19 as a 'scam'.

In a Facebook Live Christmas message to his fans, he said it was 'not a real pandemic' and called people who wear masks to slow the spread of the virus 'sheep.'

'The once Great Britain, cause they ain't great any more,' he said of the UK.

'They're a bunch of sheep... You know the new national anthem over there? You know the new national anthem around the world?,' he said, making a bleating noise like a sheep.

'Let me put this mask on.'

He also called the pandemic a 'scammy pandemic' and said he would not take the vaccine.

'It's not a real pandemic and that's not a real vaccine, I'm sorry. 'I ain't taking no vaccine. You come at me with a needle and I will be in fear of my life,' he said.

'You know what I'll do if you come at me with a needle. 'Hi I'm from the government, this needle's good for you'. F**k you.'

Aside from his use of anti-Asian slurs, Nugent has faced several recent accusations of racism.

Last month, he denied being racist claiming he was 'the anti-racist' after a sponsor pulled out of his TV show Spirit of the Wild over comments he made.

'Everybody who pays attention - not the ones who call me a racist, but the people who are actually honest and pay attention know that I have paid homage and reverence to the black heroes of music all my life, which means I'm the anti-racist,' he said.

'So if you find somebody who calls Ted Nugent a racist, you are looking at a subhuman piece of shit who lives a lie.'

In December, the 72-year-old claimed there is 'no such thing as systemic racism in America' and said Floyd, who died after white cop Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than nine minutes, 'killed himself with fentanyl'.

'There's systemic racism in Black Lives Matter, there's systemic racism in the Sudan, there's systemic racism in Nigeria but there's almost no racism at all in America. You've got to really look hard to find it. I haven't seen it,' Nugent, who is white, said.

He claimed Chauvin, who is currently on trial for murder, and the three other cops who will stand trial on aiding and abetting charges in August, were trying to 'save' and 'help' Floyd when he died under Chauvin's knee.

'The law enforcement here save lives. They serve and protect. George Floyd killed himself with fentanyl. 'He couldn't breathe all by himself in the back seat. He fought the cops,' he said.

'They tried to save him and maybe get him some help and to save the community he had thugged all his life.'

His comments came after he called Floyd a 'punk thug criminal' who 'committed suicide on fentanyl' in a November Facebook Live rant.

Nugent was also the focus of a Secret Service investigation after he made repeated threats about then-President Barack Obama.

'If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year,' he said at an NRA convention in 2012, when Obama was seeking reelection.

Two years later, he called Obama a 'subhuman mongrel'.

He later apologized after he faced criticism even from the likes of Republican Senator Ted Cruz.

Back in 1990, the singer said apartheid in South Africa 'isn't that cut-and-dry' and that 'all men are not created equal.'
