Human remains are found at the home of serial killer Billy Mansfield 40 years after he killed at least five women including a 15-year-old girl, as Florida cops arrest his brother on drugs charges

Human remains have been found at the family home of serial killer Billy Mansfield after Florida cops arrested his brother on drugs charges.

Mansfield, who killed four Florida women and a California woman in the late 1970s and early 1980s, is currently in a California prison serving four life sentences.

The now-64-year-old admitted the slayings in 1982 to avoid the death penalty. The skeletal remains of four women were found at the home in 1981.

Detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office last week carried out a search of the residence where his brother Gary still lives over drugs charges. During his arrest Gary told cops there were bodies 'all over the home', according to reports.

Police are then said to have found the new human remains as well as illegal drugs, WFLA reports.

Billy Mansfield, then a 25-year-old electrician, is said to have taken women he kidnapped to the home before torturing and killing them.  He told officials he buried his victims nearby as he liked having them there, according to reports.

Three of his victims have been identified as Rene Abbey Saling, 29; Sandra Jean Graham, 21, and Elaine Louise Ziegler, 15.

Ziegler - Billy's first known victim - had disappeared while on a family camping trip in 1975. Her remains were later found at the home.

He then met Graham in a bar before she was not seen again; her remains were also later found at the property.

The remains of the two other bodies already found at the home have never been identified.

Married mother of three Saling was also found dead in Santa Cruz, California after meeting Billy in a bar there.

Prosecutors had alleged Gary and William Sr aided the killer following Saling’s death. Gary co-operated with authorities to avoid a charge of accessory.

The killer's son Billy Mansfield III said he thinks there are 'a lot more' bodies to be found, adding: 'Personally, I think there’s a lot. I just can’t see someone gonna stop at one. And if there’s four and five, you ain’t stopping at one, you ain’t stopping at four and five.'

In a statement the Hernando County Sheriff said: 'On 10-27-20 just after 5 a.m., detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit executed a Search Warrant at 3422 Roundup Lane in Spring Hill, the residence of Gary Mansfield.

'Detectives seized numerous illegal narcotics from the residence.

'Additionally, detectives located items on a nearby property that were deemed to be suspicious. These items are separate and apart from the narcotics investigation and have been sent for laboratory testing.'

At the time of Billy Mansfield's arrest in 1981 his dad, William Mansfield Sr, was in prison convicted over sex crimes against children. He was released in 2005.

Gary Mansfield is being held on drug possession and distribution charges.
