Once Again Obama Sticks His Nose Into The 2020 Election, But Not For Biden, Endorses Down Ballot Candidates

Former President Obama has stuck his nose into the 2020 presidential race as the full court press is on to elevate Joe Biden.
The former president released a list of 188 endorsements on Monday including one for Jaime Harrison, the Democrat challenger to Sen. Lindsey Graham.
“I’m proud to endorse this diverse and hopeful collection of thoughtful, empathetic, and highly qualified Democrats,” he said in a tweet.
“If you’re in one of their districts or states, make sure you vote for them this fall,” the former president said.

He then went on to endorse mail in voting, saying “And if you can, vote early—by mail or in person.”
Harrison was quick to jump on the endorsement of the former president who remains popular with Democrat voters.
“I’m running to #BringHopeBack to South Carolina and @BarackObama knows a thing or two about hope,” he said in a tweet.
“Thank you for your endorsement and for the path you paved for folks like me to run for high office. Let’s do this!” he said as he added another tweet with a link for donations.
“Pres. Obama and I need your help to put this race over the finish line. Chip in below if you’re ready to #BringHopeBack to SC and to our country!” he said.

Graham is the heavy favorite to win reelection in November, but Harrison is black and that could carry weight, even in red South Carolina, as Black Lives Matter protests rage nationwide.
“Together, these candidates will help us redeem our country’s promise by sticking up for working class people, restoring fairness and opportunity to our system, and fighting for the good of all Americans — not just those at the top,” the former president said in a statement attached to his list of endorsements.
“They make me optimistic,” he said, “not just about our party’s chances in November, but about our country’s future long after that.”
Obama waited until every other Democrat was out of the presidential primary before endorsing his former Vice President Joe Biden.
He also endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2016 and that did not get her a victory, so it remains to be seen how much his endorsement means.
