Jeff Sessions dismisses Trump endorsement of Alabama GOP primary opponent, says his 'honor and integrity are far more important than the president's juvenile insults'

Jeff Sessions, hoping to reclaim his Alabama Senate seat, slammed Donald Trump's 'juvenile insults' after the president took to Twitter to endorse former SEC football coach Tommy Tuberville.
The former Attorney General took to Twitter on Saturday to lambaste the president for endorsing a 'scandal ridden candidate' though he did not detail what scandal he was referring to.
'I’ve taken the road less traveled,' he said in the tweet. 'Not sought fame or fortune. My honor and integrity are far more important than these juvenile insults.

Prior to serving as the Attorney General, Sessions served in the Senate seat for two decades.
Sessions was responding to a tweet made just hours earlier by Trump, announcing that the primary Senate race vote in Alabama was taking place on Tuesday. He and the president have not seen eye to eye since Sessions recused himself from the investigation into Russian election meddling.
