Disney town 'killer' dad now says his wife drugged their three children with a combination of Benadryl and Tylenol then stabbed them to death before killing herself

A man charged with killing his family in their Central Florida home has claimed that his wife is the one who murdered their three children and then herself.
Anthony Todt, 44, made the claim in a 27-page letter written from the Osceola County Jail and dated June 19 to his father in Massachusetts.
Todt has been in jail since his January arrest and was indicted on four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his wife, 44-year-old Megan Todt, their three children and their dog, Breezy.
In the letter obtained by The Orlando Sentinel, Todt alleged that Megan put 13-year-old Alek, 11-year-old Tyler and four-year-old Zoe to sleep with a dessert tainted with Benadryl and then stabbed and suffocated the children.
'Long story short, she gave them the Benadryl/Tylenol PM pie, separated them, woke up at 11:30 [p.m.], stabbed and then suffocated each one,' he wrote.
'At the news of this I ran to the bathroom and puked — I was weak.'

The Osceola Sheriff's Office previously said that Todt confessed to drugging his family, stabbing them to death and then leaving their bodies inside the Celebration home for weeks until they mummified.
State Attorney Aramis Ayala said her office will seek the death penalty in Todt's case.
The new claims could indicate the direction of Todt's legal defense ahead of the trial, but he reportedly asked his father to keep the letter 'in confidence.'
'I would have called a press conference months ago, but I was told by my attorneys, who happen to be some of the best in the state, that that was not the appropriate way to handle the case,' wrote Todt.
'So I just sit in idle, making a list of lawsuits [for] when I get out.'

Todt denied any wrongdoing in his letter and accused the Sheriff's Office of wanting 'to score a big win' with his arrest.
He said he is '10000% INNOCENT of all these preposterous charges,' and wants to 'correct all inaccuracies' made by 'the creative writing machine,' in a reference to news media organizations.

In the letter, Todt reportedly paints himself as a caring husband, while his wife was portrayed as frail and needing 'constant care' after suffering from various illnesses, including depression and Lyme disease.
Todt claims his wife's illnesses caused the family to move from their home in Colchester, Connecticut to Celebration, Florida.
'I was determined she was going to get better, and she was, though the good days were amazing but the "bad days" were even more depressing for her,' he wrote, The Orlando Sentinel reports.
He descried the day of the murders as 'phenomenal,' as Megan reportedly woke up that morning without any pain for the first time in months.
The letter reportedly said that Todt visited a nearby condo the family owned after dinner to do 'maintenance tasks' and get a Mickey Mouse necklace that Zoe had pleaded for.
He apparently intended to stay the night at the nearby condo, but returned to the Reserve Place home after forgetting his tools.

At home, Todt wrote he briefly joined his sons in a game of basketball before he sent them inside when it got dark,
'They said mom was preparing dessert and was I going to join them. I said "no" as I was trying to lose some weight, etc,' wrote Todt.
According to Todt, he walked back to the condo and sat in his minivan 'to take a small siesta' but accidentally slept into the morning.
Todt, who said he did therapy with Megan around 4am or 4:30am daily, wrote that he rushed home 'fearful of the scolding.'
Back inside his home, Todt wrote that he found the remainder of the pie, which 'looked very good, as all my wife’s desserts were, but smelled horrible.'
'Turns out it was a Benadryl pudding pie,' he added.
He claimed to have found Megan standing at the top of the stairs, where she confessed to murdering their children.
Todt wrote that he found the dead bodies of his children inside their beds with no indication of a struggle.
He claimed to have wiped their faces with a wash cloth and 'worked to make them look more comfortable,' The Orlando Sentinel reports.
Megan calmly checked on him and asked if he was 'OK' as he did so, Todt wrote
'No... you murdered our children,' Todt wrote he replied, to which Megan allegedly said, 'I released their souls.'

Todt then detailed the shocking claim that Megan killed herself by drinking a family-sized bottle of Benadryl and stabbing herself in the stomach.
He wrote that he pleaded with Megan to let him call authorities, but she allegedly begged him to help her die.
The letter reportedly said he couldn't find any phones in the house.
'I have to be with my babies,' Megan said, according to Todt's letter.
Todt wrote that he 'tried CPR until I physically couldn’t anymore.'
After Megan's death, Todt claimed that he moved the bodies to an upstairs bedroom and placed them 'in comfortable sleeping positions' and covered them with blankets 'for warmth and protection.'
He also wrote that he placed rosaries in his family members' hands, which were photographed in crime scene photos.
Todt wrote that he attempted suicide several times afterwards, but that it was 'yet another thing I sucked at.'
Todt said he barely remembers the weeks between the slayings and his arrest.

The bodies were found January 13 when federal agents and deputies went to the house to serve an arrest warrant for health care fraud charges in Connecticut.
Todt had a physical therapy practice in Connecticut to which he would travel during the work week, returning to Florida to be with his family on weekends at their home in Celebration near Walt Disney World.
He has pleaded not guilty. Defense attorneys have not spoken publicly about the claim that Todt's wife was the real killer.
The letter Todt wrote was reportedly in response to an interview his father, Robert Todt, gave about the traumatic affect the 1980 shooting of Todt's mother, Loretta, had on his son.
Todt witnessed the murder when he was a four-year-old boy.
'There’s only so much trauma a young kid can take at that point,' said Robert Todt, who as a teacher allegedly tried to hire his students to kill Loretta.
Robert was convicted of the crime and served time in prison. He maintained that he had nothing to do with Loretta's death, but admitted that he left his family vulnerable that night because he was away having an affair.
'I offer you forgiveness for not being there to protect us that night, March 19, 1980,' wrote Todt.
'Although we were both not there [on] our respective nights in question, for different reasons, I cannot forgive myself if I don’t first forgive you.'
Todt reportedly has plans to start a nonprofit to honor his family called 'MATZB2019: Alive and at Peace.'
The acronym is made out of the first initials of Megan, Alek, Tyler, Zoe and their dog, Breezy.
I know that I need to work on the name,' Todt wrote.
