Horrifying video shows a woman BOXING her German Shepherd and striking it multiple times in the head

A horrifying video shows the moment a woman struck her dog multiple times during a boxing session at her home in Idaho.  

In the footage, the unidentified woman is seen standing in front of what appears to be a German Shepherd while wearing a pair of black boxing gloves. 

'We're boxing animals. Where's Sarah McLachlan?' a man is heard saying in the video as the woman throws four punches at the dog's head. 

He seems to be referring to singer's association with cruelty prevention advertisements.

In the footage, the unidentified woman is seen standing (left) in front of what appears to be a German Shepherd while wearing a pair of black boxing gloves. She then throws four punches at the dogs head (right)

The dog is heard growling as it tried to bite one of the gloves. She continues to strike the dog until it yelps and lunges at her. The dog appeared to be struck at least eight times throughout the clip.

According to the Idaho Humane Society, officials have started an investigation as a result of the video sparking outrage on social media. 

'This morning the individual was identified and we sent a Humane Officer to discuss the situation,' the agency said in a Facebook post. 

'The investigation is currently pending review at the local prosecutor's office for a charging decision.'

According to the Humane Society, the woman could possibly be charged with beating and harassing animals. 

'Every person who cruelly whips, beats or otherwise maliciously treats any animal, or maliciously harasses with a dog any cattle, horses, sheep, hogs or other livestock shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be punished,' according to state laws.
