'He has no idea what the hell he's talking about!' Hurricane Katrina hero general Russell Honore tears into Jared Kushner's claim the federal medical stockpile is NOT for states to use

Gen. Russell Honore, who played a critical role in helping New Orleans recover from Hurricane Katrina, dismissed comments by Donald Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner about the national stockpile of medical equipment on Friday.
Honore, who helped bring order to the catastrophic initial government response to the hurricane in 2005, appeared on MSNBC, where he was asked about Kushner's latest comments.
Kushner appeared at the White House coronavirus briefing Thursday, where he revealed he has been receiving calls from states seeking medical gear, and undertaking efforts to get it delivered.

Kushner also scolded governors who weren't strong managers and slapped down states for claiming they had a right to the national stockpile of medical equipment.
'The notion of the federal stockpile was it's supposed to be our stockpile. It's not supposed to be states' stockpiles that they then use,' Kushner said. So we're encouraging the states to make sure that they're assessing the needs ... and then trying to fill it with the supplies that we've giving them.

Honore wasn't buying it.  'He has no idea what the hell he's talking about!' he told host Katy Tur, while sporting an Army cap.
'They are confused as to what their Number One priority is,' said Honore.
He also took on President Trump's recent comment that 'We're not a shipping clerk.'
'Well you know what, they are,' said Honore.
Kushner gave a window into the type of assignments he is carrying out at the White House Thursday – in just the latest example of the White House advisor and Trump family member taking a key role in a high-profile issue.
'Got a call from the president, he told me he was hearing from friends of his in New York that the New York public hospital system was running low on critical supplies,' Kushner told reporters while the president looked on.
He said he made a series of calls to officials and said the result was the administration would 'send a month of supply.'
'We'll be doing similar things with all the different public hospitals that are in the hot spot zones,' he said.
