Watch: Shaky Mueller Forgets Which President Appointed Him US Attorney

Former special counsel Robert Mueller was supposed to be the Democrats’ saving grace.
His report was going to prove that Donald Trump was only elected president because he knowingly colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
It was going to show that Trump obstructed justice and illegally interfered with the investigation into Russian meddling.
As we now know, Mueller’s report did none of those things.
And on Wednesday, during his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, the former special counsel — the man Democrats once hailed as their savior — couldn’t even remember which president appointed him to be a U.S. attorney.
“Which president appointed you to become the United States attorney for Massachusetts?” Democratic Arizona Rep. Greg Stanton asked Mueller.
“Which senator?” Mueller responded, perhaps failing to understand the question.
“Which president?” Stanton clarified.
“I think that was President Bush,” Mueller said, likely referring to former President George H.W. Bush, as The Daily Caller noted.
Nope.
“According to my notes, it was President Ronald Reagan had the honor to do so,” Stanton said, garnering laughs from some in the audience.
Mueller replied: “My mistake.”
Reagan chose Mueller to be acting U.S. attorney for Massachusetts in 1986.
Bush, who succeeded Reagan, did pick him in 1990 to be acting assistant attorney general in the Justice Department’s criminal division, according to The Daily Caller.
Bush’s son, former President George W. Bush, nominated Mueller to be FBI director in 2001.
