Here's what we know
On June 6, an account affiliated with the Autonomous Student Network tweeted
"Hey #UT23! Do you wanna be famous? If you join YCT [the Young Conservatives
of Texas] or Turning Point USA, you just might be. Your name and more could end
up on an article...So be sure to make smart choices at #UTOreientation."

Another tweet reported asked students to report on their fellow students who try to
join conservative clubs, saying that "the best #LonghornStateOfMind is an

Do you wanna be famous?
If you join YCT or Turning Point USA, you just might be. Your name and more could end up on an article like one of these 👇https://t.co/kJq6zJHwEGhttps://t.co/AGa4n2tHfC

Links in the tweets lead to a page which lists photos, personal emails, phone
numbers, and employers of several students at the University of Texas at Austin who
were involved in either the YCT or TPUSA. In one example, the group listed the
Chick-fil-A location that employed one young woman (whose name we will not
include in this article for her privacy's sake) as well as a number so supporters could "
[c]all Chick-Fil-A[SIC] to get her fired." Her crime? She was a "[m]ember of the
YCT who was present at a pro-Kavanaugh demonstration."

A main account for the Autonomous Student Network appears to currently be
suspended from Twitter. According to Fox News, this same account also lost its
tweeting privileges after it tried to doxx supporters of then-Supreme Court nominee
Brett Kavanaugh.

A spokesperson for the university told Campus Reform that the school did not
believe "students should never be targeted or face harassment for their affiliations,
political beliefs or any other reason" and that the Autonomous Student Network was
"not affiliated with the university" and "not a registered student group."
