Army Sgt. & Somalia Vet Tells Public the Truth About Ilhan Omar & Her Sick Accusation That Americans Killed Thousands of Somalis

A retired Army sergeant major has set Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar straight after her sickening anti-American tweet about the Battle of Mogadishu came to light.
The anti-American and anti-Semitic congresswoman came under fire once again this week after a newly unearthed tweet from 2017 shows Omar attacking U.S. soldiers who fought and died in the 1993 clash.
During the fighting, 18 American soldiers were killed and 73 were wounded by Somali militants.
The attack was the subject of the 2001 film “Black Hawk Down.”
Omar responded to a tweet about the horrific attack on Americans by tweeting: “In his selective memory, he forgets to also mention the thousands of Somalis killed by the American forces that day! #NotTodaySatan.”
In a column for The Federalist, retired Sgt. Maj. Kyle Lamb, who fought in the battle, explained everything wrong with Omar’s sickening tweet.
“The purpose of American involvement in Somalia was to protect the peacekeepers tasked with the near-impossible mission of delivering vital food and medical supplies to the starving, war-torn population,” Lamb explained.
But as American soldiers brought aid, warlords and Somali militants attempted to “cement their power throughout the country.”
“The American soldiers Omar attacked in her tweet — the men of Task Force Ranger — weren’t sent to Somalia for fame or fortune,” Lamb said. “They weren’t there because of a deep desire to visit the God-forsaken nation of Somalia.”
“They were deployed to support peacekeepers who were desperate to rescue the country from starvation and the ravages of civil war. To do that, they had to capture the men responsible for it.
“In other words, we were sent halfway across the world to help protect people just like Omar and her family,” Lamb explained. “Nineteen incredible men gave their lives defending her country while serving ours. They deserve to be lauded for their service, not attacked for it.”
He reiterated the point in an interview Tuesday with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.
“We were there to try to do the right thing,” Lamb said.
Check it out here. Lamb’s appearance starts around the 1-minute mark.
While Lamb wrote in The Federalist that he is glad that Omar, her family, and countless others were able to escape violence, he is baffled that she would use her freedoms to slur the men and women who defended her.
“The simple truth is that Omar enjoys the fruits of American combat deaths, yet she can’t even bring herself to acknowledge the ultimate sacrifice that was made on her behalf, either as a Somali or an American. Her clan didn’t stand a chance against Aidid and Habar Gidirs, so I don’t blame her for leaving,” Lamb wrote.
“But I do blame her for attacking those of us who had zero personal interest or investment in her nation for doing our jobs on behalf of our country. And I blame her for smearing American servicemen because we answered the call of our nation to address the violent barbarism of hers.”
It’s also worth noting that the anti-American congresswoman exaggerated the number of Somali militants who died. Rather than the “thousands” cited by Omar, estimates of Somali deaths during the encounter range from about 500 to nearly 1,000, according to Fox News.
“We wished we could have done that much damage, but that didn’t happen as far as I know,” Lamb told Carlson.
Even then, American forces weren’t targeting innocent civilians. Americans were attempting to bring humanitarian aid to Somalis like Omar’s family.
There is no denying the fact that Omar’s tweet was meant to defend the Somali militants who attacked and killed U.S. soldiers.

It’s sickening that a U.S. congresswoman would attack the American soldiers who fought to protect her native country.
