Watch as David Hogg Claims AR-15 Owners Are ‘Hunting’ Human Beings

During an interview today on MSNBC David Hogg made the outlandish claim that AR-15 owners are “hunting” human beings, as the Washington Free Beacon reports:
During an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, gun-control activist David Hogg claimed those who own AR-15s and similar rifles are not interested in self-defense but in hunting human beings.
After telling viewers that Americans need to find unity in addressing gun violence, Hogg was asked about his recent efforts to ban certain kinds of semiautomatic firearms at the state level.
He said he and other March for Our Lives activists had introduced a ballot initiative to ban so-called assault weapons in Florida.
He said those who own an AR-15, the most popular rifle in the United States, want to hunt other people.
“The truth of the matter is weapons like the AR-15 have an effective range of over 1,500 meters,” Hogg said. “If you’re using a weapon with an effective range of over 1,500 meters, you are not defending yourself. You are hunting a human being.
Partial transcript:
MITCHELL: “Let me also ask you, does this speak to local action? You spoke of a number of local initiatives. Does this mean it’s going to be very hard to get agreement on congressional action that perhaps it has to be state by state, city by city?”
HOGG: “Yes, sometimes it does have to be state by state. And even at the state level, sometimes they don’t want to work with us.
That’s why I implored yesterday along with several family members of people that were lost in the shooting at my high school, we introduced a ballot initiative that we’re working on getting right now to ban assault weapons in our state like the one that the shooter at my high school used, so that no other person get their hands on them.
Because the truth of the matter is weapons like the AR-15 have an effective range of over 1500 meters.
If you’re using the weapon within effective range of over 1500 meters you are not defending yourself, you are you are hunting a human being.
And I don’t think any civilian needs to have their hands on a military weapon like that.”
