Ocasio-Cortez fights with critical billboard by firing off a furious tweet

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) fought back against a critical billboard by

firing off a furious tweet complaining about dark money in politics.

The Socialist Democrat has been praised for her adept use of social media, and her

notorious skills were on display as she launched a twitter missive against a billboard

mocking her for her tussle with Amazon.

"Few things effectively communicate the power we've built in fighting dark money &

anti-worker policies like billionaire-funded groups blowing tons of cash on wack

billboards (this one is funded by the Mercers)," she tweeted.

"PS fact that it's in Times Sq tells you this isn't for/by NYers," she added in a

parenthetical.

The billboard was paid for by a group called Job Creators USA, and it blamed the

upstart congresswoman for losing 25,000 jobs, $4 billion in wages, and $12 billion

in "lost economic activity for NY."

Ocasio-Cortez had openly campaigned to stop a deal by New York City with

Amazon to have their headquarters located there in exchange for large tax credit.

When the deal fell through, the company blamed politicians like Ocasio-Cortez and

she openly praised the defeat of the plan.

Even some on the left, like New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, blamed Ocasio-

Cortez for the loss of economic opportunity from the implosion of the Amazon deal.

"A small group of politicians put their own narrow political interests above their

community — which poll after poll showed overwhelmingly supported bringing

Amazon to Long Island City — the state's economic future and the best interests of

the people of this state," Cuomo said.

"The New York State Senate has done tremendous damage," he added. "They should

be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity."

Here's some of the criticism AOC faced:
