London rickshaw driver is caught on video in angry confrontation with tourists after he 'tried to charge them £150 for a nine-minute ride'

This is the moment a London rickshaw driver was confronted by a passerby who allegedly saw him trying to charge tourists £150 for a nine minute journey.
Kamran Elahi said a boy of 12 and girl of 12 were being asked to pay the extortionate fare for a trip from Selfridges to Sheraton Park Tower in the capital.
The journey is barely 1.5miles and would have taken a matter of minutes.
Mr Elahi intervened and took out his mobile phone to film the encounter.
The driver became angry and attempted to snatch it away.

Other bystanders can be heard saying "call the police".
When they try to hold him back he shouts: "Don't touch me!"
The two tourists eventually handed over £25 for the trip.
In 2015 a rickshaw driver was caught on camera trying to charge £600 for a 30-minute journey in London.
Cllr Melvyn Caplan, Westminster City Council Cabinet Member for City Management, said at the time: "Rickshaws remain a plague on the West End, fleecing money from tourists and regularly causing major traffic disruption and placing the safety of pedestrians and other road users at risk.
"We want the government to implement the Law Commission’s recommendations to properly regulate and licence rickshaws as soon as possible, before the situation spirals out of control.”
