Horrifying X-ray shows young woman 'drowning in her own poo' as her body 'fills with faeces' leaving her barely able to breathe

A horrifying X-ray shows how a woman is 'drowning in her own poo' and barely able to breathe as her body fills with faeces.
In the image it is hard to make out Kelly Yeoman's organs because of the excrement lodged in her chest, and her friends say they are in a race against time to save her life.
The frightened 34-year-old has spent the last 11 weeks in hospital vomiting her own excrement after she claims her bowel was damaged during a routine operation.
She has sent heartbreaking late night messages to pals voicing her terror as her condition deteriorates.
Friends of Kelly, who is described as 'lovely, bright and caring', have launched a fundraising campaign hoping to get her admitted into a specialist hospital, warning it is her only hope of survival.
When she posted the X-ray image on Facebook earlier this month, Kelly wrote: "For those who don't quite understand the extent of my condition... this is my X-ray... the whole thing is a picture of fecal loading can't even see my organs.... and yes it's all in my chest too, my diaphragm and lungs are so high up I can barely breathe."
Anxious friends say her bowel could perforate at any moment, and this could be fatal.
Peter Rankin, 48, told Mirror Online her loved ones are desperately rallying around to get her moved, saying: "I think it's her only chance of survival."
And Peter's wife Kate, 49, said: "She's sending people messages in the middle of the night saying the pain is unbearable.
"She's terrified and she doesn't know what's happening. She can't stomach a lot of food, she's always sick after eating and she's bringing up faeces. It's horrific.
"Kelly's so terrified, she doesn't think she's going to get out of there."
Kelly's friends desperately want to move her to St Mark's Hospital in London, where she can receive specialist care as a private patient.
She is currently being treated at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, which is not where the operation happened.
Supporters have so far raised more than £1,200 of their £10,000 target.
They have praised staff looking after Kelly, but say she needs to be treated by the country's top specialists.
In an appeal for support, Kate claimed that a 'slip of the scalpel' had knocked her bowel during a minor operation.
She wrote: "For ten long weeks, Kelly has been lying in her hospital bed, on a cocktail of the strongest painkillers, being subjected to a series of increasingly humiliating and painful procedures, while nobody seems able to find a solution.
"At any moment, her bowel could perforate, which (if she is lucky enough to survive the complications) will result in a colostomy bag for the rest of her life."
And Kate continued: "Nothing seems to be working and we are watching her go gradually downhill – she is almost unrecognisable as our happy, strong and determined friend.
"Every day she seems to fade further away and we are all beginning to fear the worst."
Kate, who described Kelly as 'lovely, bright and caring' said: "This is a woman who should be enjoying every moment of her life, not lying helpless in a hospital bed, drowning in poo."
A Southmead Hospital spokeswoman told Mirror Online: "We have been in regular contact with Ms Yeoman regarding her care following a surgical procedure that was carried out elsewhere.
"Staff on the ward have developed a good relationship with Ms Yeoman and have ensured that any concerns are addressed."
Supporters have also been encouraged to send messages and Christmas cards to Kelly in hospital to help raise her spirits.
The GoFundMe appeal calls for people to post Get Well Soon messages on Kelly's Facebook page and send cards and gifts to Kelly Yeoman Ward 8A, Southmead Hospital, Bristol BS10 5NB.
